Kronplatz Mountain, which is relatively flat, is a great tip for a bike holiday. Athletes manage the 1,000 metres of altitude differential by bike; those who would rather do so can ascend via cable car. In addition to the forest roads and endless single trails, freeriders have the option of trying out the Herrensteig, South Tyrol’s first official downhill path.
Racing cyclists have a wide range of itineraries from which to choose. In the valley, there are flat cycling paths and tranquil side roads. Slow Bike enthusiasts can ride home on one of the ultra modern trains on the Pustertal Valley line, which offer splendid panoramic views.
