Vinschgau Valley is well known for its extensive network of challenging single trails. A typical day of cycling in this valley may go like this: warming up along one of the valley’s flat bike paths, getting up to a nice, high altitude either on your own steam or aboard of the valley’s convenient bike shuttles, and then gliding back to the valley floor on a flow trail or other challenging route. All of this is possible using GPS, with or without the help of an expert bike guide.
At the border triangle, Passo Resia, racing cyclists can extend their tours to Austria and/or Switzerland or bike through the side valleys from the apple orchards all the way up to glaciers at 2,000 metres.
- Long, flat stretches in the valley and flowing, more challenging single trails in the mountains
- The ascent from Prato allo Stelvio to Stelvio Pass, which has 48 hairpin turns
- The Via Claudia Augusta, an ancient Roman trade road, is perfect for leisure cyclists and families
