Dolce Vita guaranteed with tricky trails, wonderful pleasure cycling routes and road bike tours: everywhere around Lake Caldaro a bike vacation is combined with a Mediterranean climate and one of the longest bike seasons in the Alps.

Thanks to the advantageous altitude, the area surrounding the capital of Bolzano/Bozen features a mild climate. While it is still winter in most parts of South Tyrol, in February and March Father frost has nothing to say anymore in the area of Caldaro/Kaltern, Cortaccia/Kurtatsch, Andriano/Andrian, Termeno/Tramin and Terlano/Terlan, and road cyclists can start training for the coming season.

The same applies for autumn: in Bolzano & environs mountain-biking and road cycling is possible until the end of November.

The highlights during a bike vacation in Bolzano & environs:
  • Asparagus time and apple blossom in spring
  • Mendorla/Mendel Pass for road cyclists
  • The labyrinth in the Monticolo/Montiggel Forest
  • Colle/Kohlern for Enduro and freeride cyclists
