A long and varied tour. At the beginning uphill on byroad along the
Lüsen valley. Then a diffi cult uphill until the parking area Zumis. Afterwards a calm stretch on gravels to the beautiful Rodeneck/Rodengo Alp. At the end of the tableland of the alpine pasture an extraordinary downhill with over 1.200 m height difference is waiting. This one day tour ends on a nice asphalted bike path until Brixen/Bressanone.
Starting from the
Hotel Krone in Bressanone towards east and Lüsen/Luson following sign 12 uphill to the intersection and then left, then uphill following sign no. 4 until the parking area Zumis (Rodengo Alm). Continue on the gravel road right and follow straight on the alpine trail driving past Refuge Roner, Refuge Rastner and Refuge Starkenfeldhütte.
Before Refuge Starkenfeldhütte stay right and follow the red-white sign. Then turn left on gravel road no. 2a towards Refuge Kreuzwiesenhütte. Always following sign 2a turn left and follow sign no. 2 to the alpine pasture Astalm. Downhill on trail no. 3, after some kilometers left on trail no. 11 and downhill towards Elle. Follow sign no. 8 towards Ehrenburg/Casteldarne. Along the bike path until Mühlbach/Rio di Pusteria and then from Mühlbach/Rio di Pusteria towards Brixen/Bressanone until Schabs/Sciaves. In Schabs/Sciaves take the gravel road no. 8 towards south to Neustift/Novacella, at the end follow sign no. 16 until Brixen/Bressanone.
Alex recommends: The panoramic tour on the Rodeneck/Rodengo Alp can be interrupted to make a rest for lunch! A portion of pasta before you continue downhill is recommended!
