A quite challenging tour which begins with an uphill to
Aferer valley to the
Würzjoch.
A highlight in the
Dolomites is following: a gravel road to Kreuzkofeljoch.
The itinerary ends with a long downhill to
Villnöss valley until
Brixen/Bressanone.
Starting from the
Hotel Krone in Brixen/Bressanone towards east, cross the river Rienz and follow gravel road no. 9 to
Albeins/Albes. On the town road alongside the Aferer river following the red-white sign and uphill the Aferer valley. At Schmied, follow the gravel road no. 10 until the parking area (Fistil Boden). On gravel road no. 10 towards Halslhütte and then follow sign no.8, driving past Piskolalm.
At the next intersection turn right into the road. A short part straight on the road and then left on road no. 29 to the Würzjoch at 2.008 m. Follow sign 8b to the refuge Munt de Forneda. There left and continue following sign 8b to the intersection on gravel road, there you fi nd sign no. 35.
Turn right and continue on no. 35, drive past Refuge Schlüterhütte and the alpine pasture Gampen. After the downhill from the alpine pasture Gampen turn right (no. 33) towards alpine pasture Zannes. Downhill until the intersection with sign no. 34, turn right to the road.
Continue on road no. 27 to St. Peter. Then left following sign no. 11 towards Teis/Tiso. Downhill on trail no. 9 (in part on asphalt / in part on gravel road), following the trail from Albeins/Albes until the starting point Brixen/Bressanone.
