Wine Route Südtirols Süden

The South Wine Cycle Route starts in Kurtatsch a.d.W. and leads through Margreid a.d.W., Kurtinig a.d.W., Salurn a.d.W., Neumarkt a.d.W. and Auer a.d.W. before returning.

E-Bike & Pleasure Cycling

The South Wine Cycle Route is a cycling tour of around 40 kilometres through the southernmost wine-growing areas of South Tyrol. It starts in the historic wine village of Kurtatsch a.d.W. and leads through Margreid a.d.W., Kurtinig a.d.W. and Salurn a.d.W., the southernmost municipality of South Tyrol. The route continues to Neumarkt a.d.W. and Auer a.d.W. before returning to Kurtatsch a.d.W.

Directions

The tour starts at the Cultural Centre in Kurtatsch a.d.W. and follows Angela-Nikoletti-Straße southwards. Passing Turmhof, it continues through the centre of Margreid a.d.W. and along the Wine Road to Kurtinig a.d.W. After crossing the Adige River, the route follows the Adige cycle path to Salurn a.d.W. and continues towards Laag. The route then continues along the Adige cycle path through the centres of Neumarkt a.d.W. and Auer a.d.W. Via Bahnhofstraße, it returns to the cycle path, crosses the Adige again and follows Bahnhofstraße back to Kurtatsch a.d.W.

Description to arrive at destination

Kurtatsch can be reached via the A22 Brenner Motorway by taking the Neumarkt–Auer–Tramin exit. From there, follow the Wine Road via Tramin to Kurtatsch a.d.W.

Public transport

  1. From Bolzano train station, take the train to Neumarkt–Tramin train station. From there, continue with bus line 123 to the “Kurtatsch Freienfeld” bus stop.
  2. From Bolzano train station, take the train to Auer train station. From there, continue with bus line 122 to the “Kurtatsch, Freienfeld” bus stop.

Please check in advance whether bicycles can be taken on the bus.

Author's tip

A visit to Neumarkt is definitely worthwhile and offers the opportunity to explore the historic village centre and its unique atmosphere.
