Gravel-Südtirol

Gravel in South Tyrol

Tours, info and tips

Gravel bikes - made to stay, designed to swap asphalt for gravel, covering long distances, and perhaps even traveling with your own luggage. Brilliant. In South Tyrol, there are gravel tours waiting to be discovered. These are tours we used to ride with our 26" hardtail bikes years ago, tours that can have over 2,000 meters of elevation gain, tours where the proportion of asphalt and gravel is more or less equal, and tours that don't necessarily have to follow the GPX track, but where veering off can be a great idea!

Are you ready for your gravel vacation in South Tyrol?

There are BikeHotels in South Tyrol that specialize in gravel biking. A BikeHotel that focuses on gravel offers you much more than just a bike-friendly bed.

  • You’ll get at least eight carefully planned tour suggestions specifically designed for gravel bikers. These might include relaxing gravel loops, scenic high-altitude trails, or challenging forest roads. Often you can download the routes straight to your GPS device or receive them as handy printed maps.
  • It’s also important that there is a shop or rental service nearby that offers gravel bikes. This way, you can try out a new model or quickly get spare parts and expert help if needed.
  • A true BikeHotel with a focus on gravel also provides special services for gravel bikers: from a secure bike room, washing station, tools, and laundry service to small energy boosts like fruit or isotonic drinks for your next ride.
The best thing is that here you’re really among like-minded people, and everyone immediately knows what you’re talking about when you rave about wide tires and smooth gravel tracks,” says Alex, Hotel Krone.
