The bike tour from Niederdorf to Schmieden in the Pragser Valley is a leisurely route that winds through the charming landscape of the Pragser Valley. Starting from Niederdorf, you’ll first follow the bike path toward Welsberg before the route branches off along the Pragser Bach stream into the valley. On pleasant trails, you’ll eventually reach the idyllic village of Schmieden, which is known as a starting point for numerous hikes and excursions. During the traffic-calmed period from July 1 to September 15, the tour can be extended all the way to the famous Pragser Wildsee. (Note: parts of the route are quite steep.) Thanks to the mostly gentle terrain, the tour is ideal for leisure cyclists and is also easily manageable on an e-bike.
Directions
Pleasant bike ride to Schmieden/Ferrara in Prags/Braies. You start your bike tour in Niederdorf/Villabassa. First you follow the bike path in the direction of Welsberg/Monguelfo for about 3km. Now it goes along the Pragser Bach river. You reach the village of Schmiedern/Ferrara.
From 07/10/ - 09/10/ the Braies Valley will be traffic calmed. It is possible to continue driving to the Pragser Wildsee during this period of time. Also suitable for e-bikes.
