Cycle Route Fleimstalbahn
E-Bike & Pleasure Cycling
Cycling route from Laives to Auer and along the route of the former Fleimstalbahn/Val di Fiemme Railway in 36.5 km up to San Lugano.
Passing orchards and vineyards, across the uniquely scenic hills of the Castelfeder biotope, and through the forests of the Trudner Horn/Monte Corno Nature Park: the route ascends at a steady, gentle incline along the track of the Fleimstalbahn railway, which was built during World War I as a supply line and made its final journey in 1963.

Directions
From Laives, the Etsch Cycle Path goes south for about 10 km to Auer. At the Castelfeder snack bar, head north for a short distance to the road underpass. Once on the other side of the road, a short, steep climb leads up into the Castelfeder biotope.
Passing through the oak forests of the biotope, you reach the small village of Pinzon, from where you follow the road towards Montan. At Montan, turn right off the road and back onto the gravel-lined natural path of the railway track. Climbing steadily and leisurely, the route leads through tunnels and forests up to the San Lugano Pass on the border between South Tyrol and Trentino. The return journey follows the same route.
