Castelfeder – Merano - Val Venosta

This tour follows the Adige Cycle Path and the Via Claudia Augusta through South Tyrol's scenery. A detour to the spa town of Merano is well worth it.

Dieser Strecke ist ein Teilstück des bekannten Etschradweges und des Radweges Via Claudia Augusta. Hier erleben Sie die beeindruckende Landschaften und die zauberhafte Natur Südtirols. Empfehlens-wert ist ein Abstecher in die Kurstadt Meran, bekannt für zahlreiche Museen und Sehenswürdigkeiten, und den botanische Gärten von „Schloss Trautmannsdorf“.

Directions

Die Tour führt vom Etschradweg in Salurn, Neumarkt oder Auer Richtung Norden. In Sigmundskron kurz vor Bozen abzweigen und dem Etschradweg folgen. Durch Obst- und Weingärten geht es an den Dörfern Siebeneich, Terlan und Burgstall bis nach Sinich bei Meran. Auf der Romstraße links abbiegen, beim Vigil-Platz vorbei und weiter Richtung Pferderennplatz. Links über die Gampenstraße führt der Radweg durch die Unterführung der Eisenbahnlinie, am Sportplatz vorbei links Richtung Vinschgau.
Für den Rückweg gibt es die Möglichkeit denselben Weg zu fahren oder mit dem Zug ab Mals oder Meran zurückzufahren.

Description to arrive at destination

The South Tyrolean Lowlands are easily accessible via the A22 Brenner Motorway. After taking the Egna–Ora exit, follow the signs to the villages of the South Tyrolean Lowlands.

At the public car parks in the respective village.

Getting to the starting point of the tour or point of interest by public transport is easy and convenient.

Recommended equipment

For the tour, a roadworthy bicycle, sufficient drinking water, sun protection and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.

Walk through Terlan: renowned wine village with a charming historic centre.
