Altfasstal Valley

Discover the Altfasstal on two wheels

E-Bike & Pleasure Cycling, Mountainbike

Explore the Altfasstal by mountain bike and ride to two welcoming mountain huts. This tour is ideal if you want to combine nature with a sporting challenge.

Directions

The starting point is the Altfasstal Valley parking lot at an altitude of 1,600 metres. From here, follow trail no. 15, which descends gently to the Altfass stream. The route then continues with a gradual climb through the valley, interrupted by two short, steeper sections. Along the way, you can enjoy beautiful views of the Fallmetzer and Gurnatsch.

At the end of the valley, you reach the Pranterstadl Hut at 1,833 metres and the Wieser Hut at 1,850 metres, both perfect places for a relaxing break. The tour can also be extended with a hike to the Seefeld Lakes and the Seefeldspitze summit (2,715 metres).

Return via the same trail no. 15. The tour ends back at the Altfasstal Valley parking lot.

Description to arrive at destination

From Mühlbach, follow the SP149 uphill towards Meransen. In the village, continue towards the Altfasstal Valley. Follow the road to the Altfasstal parking lot, the starting point of the tour.

Parking

You can park either at the Altfasstal parking lot or at the Gitschberg cable car valley station parking lot.

Author's tip

Don’t have your own bike with you? You’ll find the right bike at Bike Rental Peppi by the church in Maranza or at Rentasport at the Gitschberg cable car valley station. Starting from there makes the tour slightly longer and particularly suitable for ambitious bikers.
