St. Ulrich/Ortisei is situated at the entrance to the Dolomite valley of Gröden/Val Gardena. What makes St. Ulrich/Ortisei so special are the Alpine pastures and mountains that surround the village. Ratschötz/Rasciesa in the north, Seceda in the east, and the Seiser Alm/Alpe di Siusi in the south: All of which are easily accessible with modern lift connections. Mountain bikers are very welcome here – as in the rest of South Tyrol.

St. Ulrich/Ortisei is easy to fall in love with: Many MTB tours start directly in the village. In addition, the brand new Gardenaronda – the Gardena four-gondola tour – also starts in St. Ulrich/Ortisei. It is the counterpart to the winter Gardenaronda but is aimed specifically at mountain bikers, in the same way as the Sellaronda.
