Ganis Resort – new look, same proven bike DNA
Whoever knows Val d’Ega and the BikeHotels South Tyrol will also know the Ganischgerhof. The hotel has been part of our group for many years – as a BikeHotel, as a basecamp for tours around the Catinaccio and Latemar, and as a place run by people who know exactly where the best riding is.
Now, quite a lot has changed: the Ganischgerhof has become the Ganis Resort. Large parts of the hotel have been renovated, others completely reimagined – and the result is definitely worth seeing.
More space for after the ride
As much as we love being on the bike, every tour eventually comes to an end. And at the new Ganis, what comes afterwards is pretty good too.
At the heart of the new spa area is the spacious infinity indoor and outdoor pool with uninterrupted views of the Catinaccio. There’s also a new adults-only sauna house with event sauna and outdoor whirlpool, a bio sauna, steam bath and new, light-filled relaxation rooms.
In short: tired legs should feel very much at home here.
16 new rooms and plenty of Catinaccio views
There have also been some major changes when it comes to the rooms. 16 new rooms and suites have been added – modern, spacious and featuring frameless glass façades that make the Catinaccio feel like part of the interior.
In fact, views of the surrounding mountains play a major role throughout the new Ganis – from the rooms to the new panoramic terrace, the pool and the redesigned lounge areas.
The new Ganis Bar: the place to meet
Another new addition is the Ganis Bar with its large fireplace. It’s a bar, living room and meeting place all in one – for a coffee in between, an aperitivo after your ride or an evening when you simply feel like staying a little longer.
The bistro and restaurant have also been redesigned: open, modern and relaxed. When it comes to food, Ganis stays true to its roots, combining South Tyrolean cuisine with Mediterranean influences. The two mountain restaurants run by the hotel are still part of the experience too – handy if you like combining a good ride with a good meal.
And the biking? They know what they’re doing.
One of the four Pichler brothers is a passionate cyclist himself and a qualified bike guide. He knows the area around the Catinaccio and Latemar inside out and is always happy to share a few insider tips. And that becomes particularly useful when the question at breakfast is: Where are we riding today?
One very good answer is Jochgrimm – Passo Oclini. The area is easily accessible by bike directly from the hotel. The tour takes you into the landscape between the Weißhorn and Schwarzhorn mountains, with ever-changing views across to the Catinaccio and Latemar along the way. If you want to discover a side of Val d’Ega beyond the best-known routes, you’ll find a great riding area right on the hotel doorstep.
For the right bike, Ganis Resort works together with Brinke Bikes. Thanks to its many years of experience, Ganis can also put together tailor-made bike packages and is an ideal choice for smaller groups.
The new Ganis Resort has been open since 25 July 2026. We think the renovation has turned out rather well. Very well, in fact.
