It has taken a very few yeas for Roland Stauder's Stoneman Trail with its challenge of the Sesto Dolomites to become an absolute MTB classic in South Tyrol. Marked with little stone manikins, the 120 km long tour leads through the fascinating mountain world of Alta Pusteria, at 4,000 metres in altitude. It is well worth conquering it and collecting 5 stamps at designated points. You need to be really fit to cycle the entire Stoneman Trail in a single day, but it is feasible. Anyone not in such peak condition can master the Stoneman Trail in stages over several days, to heights of about 1,500 m. On the first day you undertake the Markinkele/Cornetto di Confine, on the second day the Sillianer Hut with its Demutspassage and on the third day Passo Silvella and Co.
