Valle Aurina - Steinhaus to the Tauernweg from Lee Lau on Vimeo.

"Valle Aurina or Ahrntal might be one of the most beautiful places in the world that the English speaking world hasn’t heard about."

“When we heard about Südtirol/South Tyrol we thought it was too good to be true...the Dolomites with beautiful trails that were legal to bike and an infrastructure friendly for biking? It gets better. We also found that the exchange rate was very much in North America's favour as the Euro has tanked against the Canadian and US dollar, so prices were very reasonable (although we explicitly note that we travelled in September which is the off-season).”

Bruneck - Pustertail (Kronplatz - Kreutzjoch/Fidura) to Pragser Wildsee - SOUTH TYROL - Sept 16, 2012 from Lee Lau on Vimeo.

“One aspect of the South Tyrolean bike hotel packages is the ability to bundle transportation, local knowledge, accommodations and food into a seamless hassle-free package.“

Latemar in the Dolomites - Sept 18, 2012 from Lee Lau on Vimeo.

“Food is beyond description. South Tyrol is now part of Italy but used to be part of Austria. Consequently Austrian/Tyrolean culture is fused with Italian culture. The larger towns are also a melting pot of ethnicities as many peoples from the rest of Europe have found South Tyrolean friendliness, enterprise and ingenuity a draw for employment in the tourism industry. Therefore expect to be delighted by European fusion food and have your palate (and not just your bike) experience adventure. Expect also to be pampered and hosted in fine fashion. Call us jaded Vancouver/Whistlerites but we found the price of the packages to be totally reasonable with prices running about 90 EUR/day inclusive of food and accoms. Expect to pay approx 20 EUR/day for the bike transport and a local to show you around.”

Brixen Plose - Sept 17, 2012 from Lee Lau on Vimeo.

"The boast of South Tyrol is that they have 300 sunny days. Well the Vinschgau tops even the good weather of the rest of the region as it has 315 sunny days a year. The secret to the weather is the Ortler range (3000m+ mountains) which cast a rain shadow over the valley allowing for a Mediterranean climate belying its northern latitudes. The huge mountains and the warm weather draws tourists to the region as the trails in this area are the quickest to melt out from winter snow allowing orchard and vineyards to flourish."

Latsch - the Monte Sole trails Sept 20, 2012 from Lee Lau on Vimeo.

Halfling to Merano 2000 from Lee Lau on Vimeo.
